Unwaxed Podcast: Sister Shenanigans and Occasional Wisdom

“Well-behaved women seldom make history.” - Laurel Thatcher Ulrich

Or they seldom make good podcast hosts. Luckily, Sophia and Sistine Stallone skipped the script. Unwaxed speaks up, laughs loud, and doesn’t tone it down for anyone.

Need therapy but your wallet disagrees? Talking to friends gets you more side-eyes than support? What if a podcast could do it much better - zero cost, less judgemental, and way more fun to hang out with?

The Stallone sisters are “unfiltered, unapologetic, and unbelievably unwaxed”,  they are not afraid of oversharing, being unhinged, brutally honest, and what’s more important, being extremely relatable to all the young ladies out there. They’ll make you question your last text to your ex and even your weekend plans, all the while filling your Tuesdays with candid sisterly banter and a whole lot of laughs.

From dating disasters to family drama, Sophia and Sistine share it all as they navigate their twenties, sometimes stumbling, sometimes confused, but always figuring it out together, with the kind of sisterly wisdom that comes from growing up Stallone-style.

Inside Unwaxed Podcast: What You’ll Hear?

Hosted by Sophia and Sistine Stallone, the podcast blends raw conversations with real perspective. The sisters discuss everything: dating, identity, ambition, friendships, and the limbo of your twenties. They share their own dating experiences, be those total fiascos or the comfortably good ones that make you believe there’re still nice guys out there.

No story is too awkward, no detail is too small. The girls are bold, loud, and fearless, just how you’d expect Sylvester Stallone’s daughters to be.

Who among us hasn’t experienced ghosting? Or felt that sinking feeling when a text goes unanswered for days? And who hasn’t had a first date turn into an unexpected audition for Sylvester Stallone, complete with dreams of movie stardom and a monologue over dinner? Okay, maybe that one’s just a Stallone sister thing. For the rest of us, it’s usually just bad dinner and awkward silence.

The point is that the girls cover everything and share everything so you never feel alone in your loneliness in the modern world and know that even Rocky’s girls aren’t safe from red flags and wondering if they’ll ever meet someone who actually gets it. It’s extremely relatable and a reminder that no one has it all figured out, and that maybe, just maybe, that’s the point.

Your Favourite Sisters (Sorry, Kardashians)

Meet Sophia and Sistine Stallone, the hosts of the ever-so-honest Unwaxed Podcast.

Sophia Stallone, the elder sister, is a podcast host, fashion enthusiast, and digital creator. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in Communications and Entrepreneurship.

Sistine Stallone, the middle sister (the youngest one, Scarlet, is out there on her own), is an actress, model, and a digital creator as well. She made her acting debut in the 2019 survival horror film 47 Meters Down: Uncaged. Sistine is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a degree in Communications.

The sisters started the Unwaxed Podcast back in 2020, armed with two mics, lots of opinions, and almost no clue what they were doing (in their own words). In the beginning, they had lots of different guests on - digital creators, friends, experts, even a psychic. Their parents, Sylvester Stallone along with his wife Jennifer Flavin Stallone have been among the guests as well. As the show progressed, the couple remained the only recurring guests, popping in now and then with stories, advice, and the kind of unfiltered family banter listeners came to love.

The show moved with Sistine and Sophia over the years. Starting in LA, now they come to you almost every Tuesday from NYC. The focus has shifted too; these days, guests are rare (though there’s always a chance Mr. Stallone might drop by or call in, and their younger sister Scarlet makes the occasional appearance). In any case, now it’s all about unfiltered sister conversations, unsolicited advice for listeners, and the sporadic deep dive into a conspiracy theory or two; just to keep things interesting.

Vanished Without a Trace (Until Next Time)

Sophia and Sistine, in their true chaotic-good fashion, love ghosting their listeners. They disappear for weeks, only to reappear and drop an episode out of the blue with lots of apologies and “this will never happen again” promises, before vanishing all over again. It’s been over a month now since the last episode... and honestly? Classic. At this point, disappearing without warning might as well be part of the brand. They’re probably just out living life, dating, stumbling into awkward situations, gathering all the material they need to unload on a random Tuesday episode like nothing ever happened.

Who is Chris? The Man Behind the Camera

Somewhere behind the camera but always within reach, is Chris Mueller, the unofficial third voice of Unwaxed. He is the go-to for a male perspective. He is the voice you sometimes hear chiming in, he is the producer, and an honorary sibling. Chris keeps the tech running and steps in from time to time, sharing his own experience and opinion on dating drama and relationships.

He’s thoughtful, funny, and honest, which makes it easier for the girls to pull him into the conversation. And to be fair, listeners love hearing him laugh in the background. He has undoubtedly become part of the Unwaxed dynamic, of that magnetic chemistry the sisters have built with utmost care throughout these years.

Unwaxed’s Finest: Top 5 Must-Listen Episodes

If you’re new to Unwaxed Podcast or just need a re-listen of what Sophia and Sistine have been up to in the past year or so, start here. We have handpicked 5 episodes that contain everything that makes the show addictive: lots of laughter, heartfelt moments, chaos, life-changing advice, and an abundance of sisterly honesty; you won’t get that on too many shows these days.

Let’s get right into it - take a look at your fast-track into the Unwaxed universe below.

#1 Crashing Out, Making Out & March Theory, Ep. 152

This episode is simply peak Unwaxed vibes and energy, with lots of laughter, retellings of real-life awkwardness, and that fearless vulnerability that Sophia and Sistine are always willing to share with their audience.

Sistine has got a haircut which, in her words, was quite an impulsive decision, and ended up being a disaster. Now she has to hide her questionable bangs. However, the episode isn’t all about Sisitine’s hair which you can barely see. The girls break down the infamous “March Theory” on love, spill secrets on how to make friends in a new city, and share updates on Sophia’s new office job where she claims she is “husband-hunting” but it’s more talk than action.

Additionally, you will find some dark seduction tricks from Sistine to help you find the love of your life (probably not). The episode wraps with unsolicited advice to fan questions. Overall, it is messy, honest, and hilarious: basically everything we love about Unwaxed.

#2 Food Poisoning, Ugly Outfits & Stalking, Ep. 142

Sophia and Sistine share their case of battling food poisoning for two days straight. Then they go on to debate why women like everything pumpkin-flavoured during the fall and jump to discussing the film “It Ends with Us.”

Sistine also opens up about a horrible recent experience she had with a random stalker while walking in the streets of NYC. The incident led to the cops being called. It’s a raw and important moment that stresses why conversations about safety and boundaries matter.

And it’s not a first on Unwaxed. Sophia has also shared her experience with harassment in the past. Talking about this is a beyond vulnerable place to be and the girls are very brave for doing so. By opening up, they’re not just telling their story, they might be giving other women the strength to speak up too, or helping someone feel more prepared if they ever face something similar.

#3 ‘SLY’ The Documentary (Exclusive Interview), Ep. 102

In this special episode, the sisters have the unique honour of interviewing their father, Sylvester Stallone, about his Netflix documentary SLY, a name Sophia and Sistine use as an affectionate nickname for their father.

The conversation goes deep with Sylvester Stallone covering his tough upbringing, the journey to stardom, and the challenges and the dark sides of being famous. The episode is raw, intimate, and emotional, showing a side of the story that’s deeply human. This is a sincere conversation between a father and his daughters, and a rare moment where a man, known for his tough-guy characters (almost ingrained into his real-life personality), opens up about his life and struggles.

He definitely shares some important life advice during the conversation too, which makes the episode both interesting and truly worth listening to.

On a different note, the sisters also have another popular episode featuring their dad, titled Interviewing Our Dad Sylvester Stallone (Episode 50), which has racked up an impressive 8.1 million views.

#4 Did You Miss Us?, Ep. 151

After yet another classic vanishing act, the girls are finally back and louder than ever. In true Unwaxed fashion, Sophia and Sistine kick off Season 4 by explaining their mysterious disappearance: “We were cold in New York”. To be fair... that actually checks out. Cold weather, low motivation, sudden urge to disappear? Makes total sense.

They jump right into their new routines, some healthy, some... less so, and give us all the updates: where they’re at with dating and Sistine’s wild night out involving a certain A-lister. As almost always, the sisters conclude the episode with your favourite segment: Unsolicited Advice. Let the ghosting be forgiven.

If you want to feel like you’re catching up with your best friends after having fallen off the grid for weeks - this is the episode for you.

#5 Unsolicited Advice: The Male POV, Ep. 147

This episode is all about unsolicited advice where, as a rule of thumb, the sisters read questions from their fans (about complicated relationships) and try to give them the best advice for the given situation. What’s different is that Sophia is taking a break (because of a migraine), stepping off camera and handing the mic over to the one who usually stays behind the scenes, Chris Mueller.

Sistine and Chris answer the listeners’ burning questions, from dating dilemmas to fashion icks. You may occasionally hear Sophia speaking off camera. Overall, the episode will provide you with the male point of view on most things usually discussed by Sistine and Sophia.

#6 College & Cuffing SZN, Ep. 98

Here is an episode from the Christmas season of 2022. What makes it special is that Sophia and Sistine are joined by their baby sister, Scarlet. Sophia talks about some mysterious gift of hers, while Sistine gives credit to the dad-bod community. Scarlet, as unhinged and unfiltered as her older siblings, drops in with honest college updates, her relationship status, and shares some Gen Z wisdom.

The trio ends up playing a hilarious round of “Which Sister”, sparking plenty of laughs and playful chaos. What sibling hangout goes without a little friendly roasting?

The episode ends with the sisters sharing their New Year’s resolutions, fully aware that most of them probably won’t stick. But that’s half the fun. It’s a yearly ritual at this point: set the goals, forget the goals, then come back next year with a fresh batch and the same optimism.

What People Love About Unwaxed Podcast

First things first, that sister energy is unmatched. Sometimes it feels like a sister talk where the girls have almost forgotten the mics are on. Listeners love how Sophia and Sistine balance raw honesty with ridiculous humour. It wouldn’t be the same without these two girls because no one else could reflect the same warm and fun energy that they bring to the table.

They casually sabotage their dating lives by openly talking about the dates they went on, using playful nicknames. Fans love the inside scoop, the code names, and the comfort in hearing someone else overanalyze a “good morning” text for ten minutes straight.

The Unwaxed Podcast is a safe space for messy thoughts, questionable decisions, and the charm of trying, failing, then trying again (and proudly speaking up about it all). Fans come back for the vulnerability and the realization that no one really has it together.

For many listeners, Unwaxed isn’t just a podcast, it’s a weekly therapy - something that keeps them motivated throughout their Tuesdays. It’s a place people go to feel less alone about being single, confused, overwhelmed, and still trying.

And finally, while Unwaxed Podcast is definitely a girls’ club, producer Chris adds that perfect splash of guy energy. While always supportive of the girls and never shy to call out the bad guys, his honest male perspective surely adds a distinctive flavour to the podcast. Fans love when he jumps in and his laughter has already become part of the show's DNA.

What People Dislike About Unwaxed Podcast

Let’s be honest, there isn’t much to complain about when it comes to the Unwaxed Podcast. But if there’s one thing that haunts listeners more than an ex who still watches your stories, it’s the ghosting. Just when you’ve settled into your Tuesday routine with Sophia and Sistine in your ears… poof. They vanish. No warning. No explanation. Just a suspicious silence and maybe a reposted TikTok.

Of course, when they do come back, it’s like nothing happened. They stroll back into your life funnier, armed with even more unhinged stories than before. And somehow, you accept their excuses and apologies. Again. Because deep down, we all know this podcast was never going to be about consistency, it was going to be about real talk and showing up when it counts.

As Aldous Huxley put it, “Consistency is contrary to nature, contrary to life. The only completely consistent people are dead.” And come on; these are Stallone’s daughters. They grew up playing shot put, softball, and golf, doing wrestling, throwing punches, and waking up at 6 a.m. every morning for a Stallone workout session. After all this, you really thought they’d care to conform? They do their thing, they take their time, and as annoying as it feels, we all still come back for more Unwaxed stories.

Some listeners say they wish the episodes were longer. Others say they want more. More Sly. More Chris. More Scarlet. More Unsolicited Advice. More dating stories. More… anything. But isn’t that kind of the point? The moment you finish an episode, you’re already waiting for the next one. And complaining (lovingly) is just part of being a fan.

Unwaxed Podcast: FAQ

Is Unwaxed Podcast only for women?

It’s surely created with women in mind and powered by sisterhood energy. It speaks first to women and is made for the girls who know healing isn’t linear and laughter is therapy. How often do Unwaxed Podcast episodes come out?
